This is a wonderful book by Jean Heimann...Very well written and quite easy to understand...Through the years I have read quite a bit about Fatima and I love this book as it is very informative and not to mention the art and there is a lot of it and it is so beautiful...I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn about Fatima...

Excellent book. I gave four and not five stars since the book really is a summary of several books I have read over the past few years. Obviously, nothing has really changed in the last one hundred years; but I still was dreaming for more. If you haven't read every book on Fatima, like I have, read this one first. It has lots of great information.

Fantastic book for the hundredth anniversary of Fatima. Loved the book. Cannot recommend it enough for any devotee of Our Lay. This is one of her best titles.

This book is outstanding. It is beautifully illustrated in explaining the apparitions, their messages and meanings. It is written for both Catholic andnon Catholic alike. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn about Fatima.

But if we stick with her narrative (and it is truly a life-or-death tale that she weaves), we become emboldened with the knowledge that finally enables us to advocate for a better world, and a better life for our children and their children after them. As Gillam puts it, we must advocate with courage.The meat of White Wash are the middle chapters, which dive deeply into the recent avalanche of scientific studies on glyphosate, its known danger regarding the health of animals, humans, and the environment, and the many ways that Monsanto has meddled in those studies to safeguard their bottom line. Prior to the middle chapters we are introduced to people who farm, people who have names and families, people who have died from the herbicide. We are introduced to mothers who speak out against the all-consuming glut of corporate greed, and who risk their lives to do so. And finally, we arrive on the other side with tenuous yet attainable solutions to the problem of toxins in everything that we consume. It's a bumpy ride, but when the reader emerges on the other side, there is hope.A disclaimer about my 4-star rating: I have an aversion to polarity. If 5 stars is the ultimate, then I'll reserve the "I love it" rating for books that are close to my heart, and those tend to be novels. "I like" White Wash in the same way that I like to know what exactly is going into my body, especially if there's convincing evidence that I may develop cancer from eating it. I like to be well-informed, and Gillam has the chops to deliver. I like books like White Wash because they challenge me to be more aware. By contrast, anyone who is giving her book a 1-star rating, and also claims to have actually read the book, is simply lying. Because if you truly "hate" something, you surely won't sit with it for nearly 300 pages. If, however, you are a pawn to a multinational corporation who happens to be the culprit in the book's central struggle, then and only then would you take the time to discredit a book using uninformed opinions.Like I said, a jagged pill. You may have to read White Wash through the slits of your fingers over your eyes, but for the sake of our future, it needs to be read.

This book scared me out of using glysophate anymore and scared me enough that now I have begun to buy more "organic" foods! But it also gave the recipe for a cheap homemade solution that is as good or better than the high-dollar product. It makes me wonder if the writers of the movie "Michael Clayton" had inside knowledge about a large corporation denying their own criminalizing research??

GMO food crops that are designed to resist glyphosate have led to vastly increased use of this weed killer. Because some weeds have become resistant to glyphosate, GMO seed producers are now seeking permission to combine glyphosate with other noxious ingredients such as 2,4-D and dicamba.Many independent investigators have presented evidence that glyphosate is or may be carcinogenic. Despite the World Health Organization's declaration that glyphosate is probably a human carcinogen, U.S. federal regulatory agencies (EPA. FDA, and USDA) have downplayed the dangers of glyphosate. This is a terrific introduction for students who are new to the subject. It is admirably clear and very well written. I will outline here some of the advantages this book offers for the beginner. 1) It is very much a brief history of the subject. Analytic philosophy has been around for a least 120 years, and like most philosophy its history has been difficult and contentious. The author exhibits great skill in illuminating the most important aspects of analytic philosophy in such a succinct venue. 2) For those with limited exposure to philosophy, at the end of each chapter there are background snippets which explain in simple language some of the important and technical concepts necessary for a full understanding of the text. 3) The breath of the discussions is impressive. It's all here---the logicism of the earliest period of analytic philosophy, insightful discussions of the founders (Frege, Russell, Moore, and Wittgenstein), the Vienna Circle and Logical Positivism, and the post WWII linguistic turn. Crucial later thinkers are also given their due (Quine, Kuhn, Putnam, Rorty). 4) More recent topics are also addressed. Philosophy of mind and philosophy of language, modal logic, ethics and metaethics, just to name a few. Here I may add some of the other giants of philosophy brilliantly analyzed---Lewis, Davidson, Grice, and Kripke.After digesting this wonderful book, you may want to climb the ladder of knowledge further. For those interested in Wittgenstein my highest recommendation goes to P.M.S. Hacker, Wittgenstein's Place in Twentieth Century Analytic Philosophy. And the definitive anthology in the field, huge, comprehensive, and sophisticated, is The Oxford Handbook of the History of Analytic Philosophy, edited by Michael Beaney.

It's a great summary of the history of contemporary philosophy. I certainly appreciated a succinct description of some of the most key philosophers and their ideas, as well as some of the initial movements that led to logical positivism, metaphysics, and the contemporary concepts of language. If looking to jump into philosophy, this would be a great place to start in laying the foundation. It's an easy read. Not as thick and heavy in its concepts.
